Meet the Upper East Side Team Behind DryMark Restoration Upper East Side

We’re the crew that shows up when a supply line fails behind a prewar marble wall at 2 a.m. or when a co-op board needs documented proof that Category 3 water didn’t compromise the subfloor. Every person on this page is background-checked, licensed, and named on the work order you sign. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s The Haven Standard, Clause 1 through Clause 7, and the understanding that a written price before work starts and a photo record when we leave are the minimum, not the exception.

Our People

Alicia Brennan, Owner

I started Back to Dry in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster watching homeowners lose tens of thousands because the restoration company they hired didn’t document moisture readings, didn’t produce daily drying logs, and couldn’t produce a single photo when the carrier asked for proof of loss. I built this company around that gap. I still review every written scope before it goes out, and I still catch crew members by surprise when I ask to see the psychrometric data from day three of a drying job. The wry part? I’ve lost count of how many “minor drips” reported by doormen turned out to be failed brass supply lines behind six-figure bathroom renovations. The moisture meter doesn’t care about the marble.

Marcus T., Lead Water Technician

Marcus has been with us since 2017 and carries IICRC WRT and ASD certifications, which means he’s trained in both water damage restoration and applied structural drying. He’s the technician who decides whether we’re looking at a standard three-day dry or a seven-day tertiary drying scenario with supplemental dehumidification, and he’ll explain the vapor pressure differential in plain terms if you ask. His specialty is prewar buildings on the Upper East Side, where plaster and lath construction changes the math on every job. Off hours, he restores vintage motorcycles in a garage up in Inwood, which he says taught him more about patience with seized fasteners than any certification course.

Elena R., Senior Mold Remediation Installer

Elena joined us in 2019 with a background in industrial hygiene and holds her IICRC AMRT certification for microbial remediation. She runs containment on every mold job personally, and she’s particular about negative air pressure readings, which she logs every four hours until clearance. Her human detail: she grew up in a rent-stabilized building in Yorkville where a botched mold job in the unit above hers drove her family out for six weeks. She still remembers the smell. That’s why she photographs every layer of impacted drywall before it comes down, and why she won’t sign off on a job until the post-remediation verification shows spore counts at ambient background.

David K., Service Coordinator

David answers the phones that ring at 3 a.m. when a superintendent reports a flooded basement mechanical room. He’s been with us since 2020 and knows which buildings on Fifth Avenue have 24-hour concierge, which co-ops require board notification before any equipment crosses the threshold, and which managing agents will accept a digital photo record versus who still wants it printed and bound. He schedules, he dispatches, and he stays on the line until the crew confirms arrival. He also coaches youth basketball in East Harlem on Saturday mornings, which he says prepared him for managing expectations with anxious property managers better than any customer service seminar.

Jasmine O., Restoration Apprentice

Jasmine started with us in 2023 after completing her IICRC WRT and is currently working toward her ASD certification under Marcus’s supervision. She’s already handled full pack-outs on two fire damage jobs in Carnegie Hill co-ops and has developed a reputation for documenting contents condition with the kind of granular detail that makes insurance adjusters stop asking follow-up questions. Her previous career was in museum collections management, which she says was surprisingly transferable: same principles of controlled environment, same obsession with condition reporting, same understanding that the documentation outlasts the work. She lives in Harlem and takes the 6 train to most jobs, which means she’s often on site before the truck finishes parking.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with us whether we’re working a single-unit leak on East 72nd or coordinating a multi-floor dry-out across a full co-op stack on Park Avenue. Clause 1 means the written price arrives before the first piece of equipment comes off the truck. Clause 3 means the photo record is standard, not an upsell. Clause 7 means the 365-Day Done Right Promise is signed, not mentioned in passing. We document to IICRC, RIA, and IFA standards because those are the standards carriers recognize, and because Alicia spent too many years watching homeowners pay out of pocket when documentation failed. Every technician on this page has their license number on file, their background check completed, and their name on the work order. The equipment varies by job, Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, Injectidry, but the standard doesn’t. Call (551) 213-5277 and a live person answers. No voicemail tree. No next-business-day callback while water is still wicking up plaster.
